Caraway essential oil has a strong, spicy, sweet aroma which makes a deliciously warming bath. It is also a well known digestive stimulant and therefore great to use for abdomen massage.

Caraway has great antiseptic properties and is a common ingredient in toothpastes and mouthwashes. The German liqueur Kummel is also made from the seeds.

The herbal remedy was traditionally used for flatulence or colic (especially in children) and the use of the seeds in breads, cheeses, etc. promotes its digestive properties.

This herb can grow up to 60 meters in height. It has feathery, pinnate leaves and small white flowers. The flowers bear fruits, which is where the seeds are found. From the seeds, the essential oil is extracted. Other seed producing herbs include Fennel, Coriander, Cumin, Dill and Aniseed.

Caraway essential oil has a strong, sweet aroma which makes a deliciously reviving yet relaxing pre-dinner soak, just add to running bath water.

Or, try blending 3 drops of Caraway with 2 drops of Jasmine in 10ml of Coconut oil for a relaxing massage blend.
